Support and Solidarity with ZGH Čistoća Workers
Dear Workers of ZGH Čistoća,
We are closely following the news and events within Zagreb’s Čistoća, where you have expressed justified dissatisfaction with low material rights and difficult working conditions. We see your determination to demand change and your resolve in resisting through industrial actions if necessary.
We, the undersigned trade unions, give you our full support and invite all other trade unions in Croatia to join us!
The demands you have highlighted are justified, reasonable, and must be respected. The level of self-organization, determination, and courage you have shown is impressive. It serves as an example to all workers and unions; it proves that when workers are united and organized, nothing can sway them.
Furthermore, we strongly condemn the statements made by representatives of the company’s management, Zagreb Holding, and city authorities who have labeled your actions illegal and threatened you with sanctions. Your actions are completely legitimate!
We support your perseverance for as long as you deem it necessary. Beyond the fight for improved labor rights, this is also a struggle for the public good—for the availability and sustainability of public utility services. The first step toward that goal must be respect for workers’ rights, living wages, and dignified working conditions.
We hope that your determination brings results and that the citizens of Zagreb show their solidarity. The position of Čistoća workers is not just your problem; it is a problem for the entire community.
