The Executive Committee of Novi sindikat has adopted the following positions:

• The right to vaccinate: We believe that the decision to vaccinate is a matter of individual choice and a personal right.

• Mandatory testing for the unvaccinated: We find it questionable why the testing obligation is imposed solely on unvaccinated individuals if the primary purpose of testing is the protection of public health.

• Refusal of testing: We do not recommend that our members refuse testing. Given the current climate and the observed tendencies of the Croatian judiciary, refusal could lead to serious legal consequences, including the termination of employment contracts. This is our recommendation even though we question the Civil Protection Directorate’s authority to mandate such obligations in the manner they have.

Furthermore, we would consider any potential measure that prevents unvaccinated people from even undergoing testing as a basis for obtaining a COVID certificate to be a gross violation of fundamental human rights. We sincerely hope such measures will not be implemented.
