The strike in the student cafeteria, jointly organized by the Independent Union of Student Center Employees of the Republic of Croatia (SSZSC RH) and the Novi Sindikat, is entering its 12th day.
We are striking for the fundamentals of unionism – we want to regulate salaries through a collective agreement instead of allowing the employer, the Student Standard Agency, to unilaterally determine them through their Governing Council. We are fighting for a principle; we are persevering and will not let the Agency break us. However, in this fight, we need your help.
Since workers will not be paid for the days spent on strike, we have decided to establish a strike fund. If you support our struggle and our demand for the right to negotiate salaries, we invite you to contribute any amount you can to the SSZSC RH account. The funds raised will be used solely to compensate the workers’ lost wages, and any surplus will be saved to assist future union strikes.
