Since the Government of the Republic of Croatia has yet to provide a serious response to the Revija case, we have sent a new letter announcing a protest in early December:
“Dear Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia,
We remind you that on September 26, 2024, under filing No. 292/24, we proposed a new meeting between representatives of former employees of the clothing company ‘Revija’ and Novi sindikat with you and your associates. We repeated this proposal on October 16, 2024, adding that we would like to include worker representatives from ‘Plobest’.
Through telephone contact with Minister Bačić’s cabinet, and despite his previous promises to help resolve this case, we have now been informed that the matter falls under the competence of the Ministry of Finance. This is why we have addressed you directly several times—because if it is unclear which minister is in charge, we are certain that you, as the Prime Minister, are.
As announced in our previous letter, since there has been no serious communication from your side, we are commencing the organization of a protest to be held in the first week of December. We kindly ask you to inform us on which day that week the session of the Government of the Republic of Croatia will be held. Although preparations for the protest have begun, we remain ready to attend a meeting with anyone who is able and willing to help the workers defrauded by the Republic of Croatia.
Please do not believe the claims of your associates that it is impossible to resolve the problems of workers whose companies’ bankruptcies have concluded, or that issues can only be solved while bankruptcy is still ongoing. There are two arguments against this claim:
1. A closed bankruptcy can always be reopened.
2. A new law could be passed to regulate the compensation of defrauded workers.
The only question is whether you want to help these deceived people or not. If you do not, we ask that you state so publicly, with an explanation as to why.
For further details and to agree on an exact date for the meeting, we suggest that you contact the President of Novi sindikat, Mario Iveković (091/5148-516), the General Secretary of Novi sindikat, Tomislav Kiš (091/3566-100), or via e-mail at ns@novisindikat.hr.
Respectfully,
President of Novi sindikat,
Mario Iveković
