This year, Novi sindikat was given the opportunity to host the exhibition “Made by the Hand of Workers: Real Fashion Creators,” which deals with the conditions and practices within the global fast fashion industry, and which was authored by the Dutch organization of the CCC, Schone Kleren Campagne (SKC).
The realization was made possible by cooperation with the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum in Zagreb.
The opening of the exhibition will be on March 7 at 6 p.m. in the Technical Museum (Exhibition Hall).

Through the stories of seven young textile workers from Indonesia and Bangladesh about life in and outside the factory, the exhibition ‘made by the hand of workers: real fashion creators’ introduces visitors to the people who made their clothes, poor working conditions in the textile industry and problems related to low wages, safety at work, gender-based discrimination and lack of freedom of trade union association. In addition to providing detailed information about the situation in the textile industry, the exhibition includes interactive exhibits that allow visitors to get acquainted with the process of making T-shirts, try making connections or check their knowledge of the textile industry through a quiz.
Did you know that an average piece of clothing goes through 172 hands during production? But the workers who produce it are not paid enough to live off their labor.
For the purposes of the presentation in Croatia, we have supplemented the exhibition with a smaller unit that deals with the Croatian textile industry and provides information on salaries, working conditions and problems faced by Croatian textile workers.
At the exhibition, you will find out why exploitation of workers is possible and what you can do to prevent it. Come and discover the negative practices within the textile industry!
Exhibition opening hours:
Tuesday-Friday: 11:00 – 19: 00
Saturday-Sunday: 10:00 – 14: 00
Closed on Mondays and holidays.
The exhibition will be open until 30. March 2025
