The Šibenik textile factory Revija entered bankruptcy on March 19, 2001. At that moment, 326 women workers were dismissed, and their claims for 1.7 million euros (13 million HRK) in unpaid salaries and severance pay were officially recognized. To date, they have managed to collect only about 440,000 euros (3.3 million HRK), sourced from the sale of the old plant in the center of Šibenik in 2013. That plant was demolished in February 2017 to make way for a hotel. Despite more than 20 years of agony, including countless hearings, gatherings, and protests, the remaining amount has still not been recovered.
That is why we are organizing a protest alongside the workers next Thursday, November 23, in Zagreb. The gathering will begin at 11:30 a.m. at Ban Jelačić Square, and at 12:00 p.m. (noon), we will arrive at St. Mark’s Square (Markov trg). We invite all interested parties to join us at Ban Jelačić Square and support the workers of Revija in their fight for justice!
