On May 13, Novi sindikat met with representatives from UNI Europa’s Graphical and Packaging sector. The meeting focused on establishing technical protocols and modalities for cooperation between Novi sindikat and other trade unions within the industry.
Subsequently, on May 14 and 15, a meeting of the global trade union federations UNI Europa and IndustriAll Europe was held at the Hotel International in Zagreb. The event brought together representatives from unions representing graphic artists and packaging industry workers. The meeting was co-organized by UNI Europa and IndustriAll.
The primary topics of discussion focused on preparations for negotiations with employers regarding organizational and technical changes in the legal regulation of raw material usage within the packaging industry. Furthermore, the participants analyzed the ongoing green transition and its specific impacts on the sector, while also conducting a detailed review of current corporate acquisitions and their consequences for workers within the industry.
The meeting was attended by trade union representatives from across Europe. Novi sindikat was represented by staff member Jana Kaliterna, Union Steward Darko Bebeši (DS Smith), and General Secretary Tomislav Kiš.
